Jan has been an educator and computer trainer since the 70's interacting with a wide range of age groups from pre-schoolers to mature-age learners up to 80+ years of age. She has been part of the teaching staff in both private and government institutions.
During her employment as a Teacher Librarian in several school library locations, Jan set-up, managed and taught in many computer labs. She also managed the computerised library databases which controlled thirty to forty thousand resources housed in each of the libraries.
